Four reasons why people fail to get fluent in English
Some people have difficult time learning English. They learn hard but something doesn’t allow them to get fluent in English and they don’t know what that is. I have been learning Vietnamese for pretty long time and I am still not fluent but I know why. There are many reasons to fail at getting fluent in English but four of them are always invoked by learners of English.
Here you have four reasons why people fail at getting fluent in English.
I’m shy to speak English - If you are shy and don’t speak English then you will never be fluent in English. If you don’t practice then you forget. There are lots of opportunities to speak English, you can even speak English alone at home. It is better than not speaking at all.
I don’t have time - Many people complain about the time (including me) but there is so much free time during a normal day that you can use to practice English or learn new vocabulary. There are free podcasts and YouTube videos that you can listen while you are doing housework for example.
I tried but I’m not good at English - That might be true, some people are better at learning a language than others. They are better because they want it more, they have a purpose, they take responsibility, they have imagination, and one of the most important reason, they have a good plan/method.
Adults can not learn English well - Definitely, a child will learn faster but if you don’t give enough credit to yourself of course you will not succeed. Personally, I see many advantages being an adult learner of English and the most important ones are: you know what you want, you have a strong reason for learning English, and you can make your own plan according to your needs.
