Area of a parallelogram

Area of a parallelogram is calculated by multiplying the base by the height.

Area of a parallelogram

Note:
Opposite sides of a parallelogram are parallel and equal in length and opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal in measure.

Example:
Area (A) = base (b) × height (h)
A = b × h
If b = 8 units and h = 5 units then:
A = b × h = 8 × 5 = 40 square units
