Binh Quoi is a big beautiful park located in Binh Thanh district of Saigon. There are two parks (or tourist villages as they are known); Binh Quoi 1 and Binh Quoi 2.
It is amazing how just 20 minutes ride from down town Saigon can change the environment. First thing you notice when arrive there is the rustic feeling and cleanness.
The next thing immediately observable is the large amount of young couples and photographers. Instantly you realize that this is a hot spot for taking photos. It is said that Binh Quoi Tourist Villages are the most photographed places in Saigon.
I went there with a friend in a Sunday morning and of course I asked him to take my photo (see above). I expected to find a crowded place but it was acceptable (you can see a bride on the right side of the photo).
The place is fulfilled with lakes and rustic bridges that accentuate the rustic and wild feeling. It is a real pleasure walking around and having no motorbike honking at you.
There are quite a few restaurants so having a good meal and a cold beer shouldn’t be a problem. More than that the prices are more than acceptable for what you get. You can go fishing there, play tennis, or take a romantic ride by boat if you feel so.
Amazing bungalow style rooms are available for rent. I walked inside the sleeping compound until a guard came and politely told me in broken English that “no photos allowed”. I have no idea about the price but it is a very pleasant place to be.
