At this stage, students talk together guessing what the words written on the board mean. Students have a minute to discuss the meaning of the words.

Stage 2

Due to the simplicity of the language use in this lesson a Test – Teach – Test method seems to be the best approach. The teacher asks students what “Dan” refers to.
Expected answer is: “Your name is Dan.” The teacher does the same for all other words.

The teacher writes the statement for every word and the questions as well. The keywords are underlined.

Stage 3 – Drilling

The teacher makes sure the students understand the meaning of the statements before drilling. Drilling can also be introduced later for correction purposes or after a fluency task. However, drilling the statements on the board once is definitely useful at this stage.

Stage 4

Ask the students to make the statements from the board true for them. An example can be provided for a better understanding of the task.

Give the students a couple of minutes to complete the statements with their information then ask a student to complete the statements from the board. Drilling the new completed statements and the questions is a good idea at this point.

Stage 5

In pairs, the students ask and answer the questions from the board. When the students feel more confident, the questions can be practiced with the teacher.
