Talking about Vietnam | ESL/EFL Lesson Plan

This is another attempt to create an easy lesson that is easy to be understood and memorized in the class without any work at home. The topic is “Vietnam” and the purpose of the lesson is to have students talking about their own country Vietnam in English language.

Socialist Republic

Vietnam, also known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, is a country located in the south east of Asia. It is a big country with an area of 329,560 square kilometers. It has a population of about 90 million people who speak Vietnamese language.
The capital city is Hanoi but the biggest city is Ho Chi Minh City. Other big cities are Hai Phong, Da Nang, Nha Trang etc. The National Day of Vietnam is on September 2nd. Vietnam’s neighbors are Laos and Cambodia to the west, China to the north, and South China Sea to the east. Vietnam is divided into 63 administrative units.
