Area of a triangle is calculated using the following formula:

multiply the base by the height then divide by two.

A = b × h ÷ 2

A = area

b = base of the triangle (see the images below)

h = height of the triangle (see the images below)

A right triangle is a triangle that has a right angle (90 degree angle). Its area is calculated using the same general formula.

An acute triangle is a triangle that has all its angles less than 90 degree. Its area is calculated using the same general formula.

An obtuse triangle is a triangle that has one of its internal angles greater than 90 degrees. Its area is calculated following the same general formula.
